The Faroe Islands you ask? Are they tropical? Where are they?
Very few people have ever heard of these islands let alone
know where there are, or better yet, have been or will ever go there.
In the beginning of 2008 Stuart Watkins, bass player, told me about The Faroe Islands.
It was a dream of his to go there. He told me about G!Festival, this amazing
Scandanavian Festival on the islands so I emailed Jón Tyril, the festival
director to see if he would be interested in having me play his festival in 2008.
Unfortunately he was all filled up but told me to contact him about the 2009 festival.
So I did.
We were booked to play at The G!Festival in the village of Gøta on Saturday July 25th.
Stu and I decided to hire a Faroese drummer (Brandur Jacobbsen)
and make one
of the most amazing treks of our lives.
I had absolutely no idea what to expect but fell completely in love
with the Faroese people, Gøta and The Faroe Islands themselves.
