On Novemebr 29th I left for Trenton, Ontario to start rehearsing for The Northern Show Tour that National Defense brings to the Canadian Forces Station in Alert every year.

A few interesting facts about Alert, Nunavut:

  • It is the northernmost permanently inhabited place in the world.
  • It is only 817 km from the North Pole.
  • Magnetic North is actually south of Alert.
  • Alert is classified as a desert.
  • During the winter months it is 24 hour darkness and through the summer months it is 24 hour sunlight.

Our crew consisted of:

  • Atlantic Crossing: Band from Vancouver, BC.
  • Isabelle Quintin: Singer/Performer/Actress, from Ottawa ON.
  • Shelley Kenney and Kristy Coleridge: Dancers from Toront, ON.
  • Doug Funk: Comedian from Cambridge, ON.
  • Dave Arther: Show Director, musician from Ottawa, ON.
  • JP : Our National Defense escort officer., from Ottawa ON.
  • Dave Co: Our amazing soundman from Calgary, AB.
  • Chris Newkirk: Lighting designer from Toronto, ON.

I've put together some photos and videos of the rehearsals, the Hercules ride, the shows and some other fun stuff!
